About The Archivist No. 001

Not everyone can travel the world—but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience it.

Issue 001 explores the idea of the archive as something living—shaped by memory, craft, and intention, and defined by what we choose to keep.

Designed for those drawn to art, culture, and discovery, this issue offers access to global perspectives through curated places and experiences—from museums and libraries to galleries, bookstores, nature, and cultural districts.

Alongside these spaces are in-depth conversations and case studies featuring artists and archivists who preserve culture in their own masterful ways. Through their work, archiving becomes more than preservation—it becomes a form of authorship.

This issue is both a guide and a reflection—an invitation to explore, to learn, and to consider what shapes us, wherever we are.

What Makes Our Issues Different

Most magazines are designed to be consumed quickly. This one is meant to stay.

  • Only 100 copies are produced for this issue.

Each is individually marked (Print 001 of 100) and includes a handwritten note from the Editor-in-Chief—making every copy a personal record of the edition.

Once complete, the issue is not reprinted.

Once sold out, it will not be reprinted.description

  • Printed on 100 lb paper, the weight is immediately noticeable—heavier than standard magazines.

The bonded finish holds a matte surface, while printed images and text catch light at an angle with a quiet sheen.

  • Perfect bound for durability and longevity. 120 pages, intentionally composed and paced.

  • Every page serves a purpose.
No advertisements. No placeholders. No excess.

  • Curated cultural districts, museums, libraries, galleries, bookstores, and natural spaces—alongside in-depth conversations with artists and archivists.

Made for reference, reflection, and return.
